At Paramount Eye Care and Eyewear we offer a wide variety of services to help treat our patients and their families. But one of our passions is treating Dry Eyes. We are constantly investing in new technologies to help aid in diagnostic and treatment options for our patients and are proud to offer Envision by Inmode. Envision is a NEW groundbreaking, nonsurgical alternative, redefining treatments for dry eyes caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), Blepharitis, and Dry Eye. With Envision we can deliver energy-based therapies to improve our patient’s skin appearance and quality of life.

• MGD is the blockage of the glands that are inside the eye lids. Because of that blockage you are unable to secrete those oils, and without those oils your tears evaporate too quickly leading to dry eyes. MGD can be one of the main factors that causes styes to form on your eyelids. If those glands remain blocked and are unable to express and flow, those glands will atrophy over time. This means your symptoms will continue to worsen and become more severe and difficult to treat.

• Blepharitis is the inflammation of your eyelids. A variety of different skin conditions can cause this to develop and may be a large contributor to your dry eye symptoms.

• Dry Eye is a multifactorial condition that can lead to severe debilitating symptoms such as eye pain, light sensitivity, foreign body sensation, tearing, blurred vision, itching, irritation, redness, eye fatigue, and contact lens discomfort.

Envision is a safe, effective, and comfortable office-based procedure for the symptomatic relief of MGD, Blepharitis, and Dry Eye. We currently have two options Forma I and Lumecca, for helping treat dry eyes and a variety of other issues that may be concurrent or simply bothersome.

Forma I

Forma I uses bipolar radiofrequency to deliver consistent and gentle heat to small delicate areas of the skin penetrating to the deep tissue layers. The goal of Forma I is to heat collagen in the skin, both superficial and deep, to stimulate regeneration and collagen synthesis. This leads to increased Elastin and tightening of the skin and tissue, resulting in less wrinkles. The warming effect on the Meibomian Glands in the eyelids melts down the blocked oils and allows the glands to stimulate the flow and expression of those oils to get rid of dry eye. It even helps regenerate glands that have previously atrophied from long term damage, turning back the clock on Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. Forma I uses color blind technology which means it can be used on any skin type.

Lumecca I

Lumecca I is an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy that uses high-intensity broad spectrum light. The light is absorbed by melanin and pigmented lesions in the skin and hemoglobin in superficial blood vessels. The light is changed to heat energy as it reaches the level of collagen beneath the skin which reduces inflammation and promotes neocollageneis. In doing so the skin becomes tighter, less inflamed, and regenerates back to a younger more youthful state. It is highly effective for the treatment of Rosacea, Demodex lid mites, Blepharitis, Sunspots, Styes and Chalazions, Wrinkles, Under-Eye Bags, and MORE! IPL interrupts the dry eye inflammation cycle by bringing the tear film back to normal, resulting in an improvement in dry eye symptoms.
